Great food Great Atmosphere
Aces BBQ was introduced to me by my awesome guy friends that always want a lot of food and a lot of flavor. Along with the amazing food comes friendly service, oldies music, and a very calm atmosphere. We always happen to go during the daytime and sometimes we have been lucky enough to sit in on some live music(usually on Fridays). This place is charming and although it is a BBQ place, they have a wide selection of food to choose from.
The one we have shown here is their potato salad. Raul really enjoys it, but since this is sweeter than I am used to, I usually opt out of this one. I'm not saying it isn't great, all i'm saying is its not my preference. It has large chunks of red potato, and it keeps a great texture, something I think is very important with potato salad. Do expect a potent pepper flavor as well. Price for what you see in the picture is 9.99 and it does not include a drink.
If you are a fan of BBQ you know how important a good sauce can be. Lucky for us, Aces has two sauces to choose from. Both delicous. Both intense. Both sent from the heavens. (If i do say so myself)
Hot BBQ Sauce(left)-extemely tangy, sweet, burst of peppery flavor. Heat wise, I'd have to say its not too spicy, but it does have a bit of a slight kick.
Standard BBQ Sauce(right)-ketchup based but hardly tastes like ketchup at all, sweet, fresh, also peppery. It's just a top notch sauce man....
Since I am not a major "red meat eater" myself, I highly enjoy a place with options, which Ace's has. (No veggie only options though) This platter comes with 4 Catfish fillets, which have been battered in Cajun spice deliciousness. The fish is cooked magically. It is crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside, and oh so good on the everywhere side. This fish needs no lemon, which is a first for me because I always find Catfish quite overpowering, yet this flavor does not need to be toned down at all. This baby comes with two sides (yaaaay).
The amount of happy I got after a bite of this Peach Cobbler is worth way more than what this costs. This is sweet, but not overly sweet. It is creamy, gooey, and just the perfect texture. The bread is not too dense, and slightly crispy on the outside. The peaches underneath are very fresh and when you put all of this together with the yummy vanilla ice cream, you get something any cobbler making grandmother would be proud of. I am a dessert person to the fullest extent, but my boyfriend, Raul is not, so to both of our surprises, he ended up loving this Peach Cobbler. On Mondays this cobbler is complimentary when dining in, so take advantage of that, I know I will! Cobbler- 2.99
A la Mode- 3.99
